The History of the Holy Spirit Catholic School Blazers

The Diocesan vision to build a Roman Catholic Church and School in Goddard, KS began in the late 1990s, and was put into action on August 3, 1998 when Holy Spirit Catholic Church held its first mass in the Goddard High School Auditorium. This marked the start of a grace filled journey towards forming students in the name of Jesus Christ with Holy Spirit Catholic School opening its doors on August 16, 2002.

The school opened offering only a half-day Kindergarten and a combined first and second grade classroom, and along with an enrollment of 17 students came a prayerful goal of adding an additional grade annually. With the Holy Spirit filling the hallways, the school was blessed to grow to a complete K-8 facility by the fall of 2008. By the fall of 2009 not only were there enough students to begin splitting classrooms, but the school was blessed with the opportunity to provide a faith filled Preschool for 3 and 4 year old children.

Today Holy Spirit Catholic School is thriving in the Lord's glory with a preschool enrollment of over 50 students and a K-8 enrollment of over 130 students. The school is now able to offer separate classrooms for the kindergarten through sixth grade, and HSCS remains faithful in looking to the Lord for its goals towards growth.

Families involved with the school demonstrate their stewardship through various means.
