OUR MISSION

"You can do nothing with youth unless you win their

confidence and love by bringing them into touch with

yourself, by breaking through all the hindrances that keep them at a distance.

We must accommodate ourselves to their tastes; we must make ourselves like them."

 - St. John Bosco, Patron of Youth and Youth Workers

Our Mission is to lead youth into closer relationship with Christ by offering opportunities

to explore their faith through prayer, education, stewardship, and activities throughout the

Parish, Region, and Diocesan levels.   All high school youth in the parish are welcomed and

encouraged to attend classes on Sunday evenings from 5-6:30 in Spirit Hall.

TEC

Teens Encounter Christ (TEC)

TEC "Amen, amen, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains just a grain of wheat; but if it dies, it produces much fruit." - John 12:24 TEC Group

Teens Encounter Christ (TEC) is a 3-day retreat based on the Paschal Mystery of Jesus Christ. TEC involves older adolescents & young adults encountering Christ in a way that many have never experienced before. On a TEC retreat, you will have the opportunity to grow in your relationship with Christ through talks, group discussion, individual reflection and prayer, and sharing in the Sacraments. Not only is TEC about faith; it is also about having fun and getting to know other youth and young adults from around the Wichita Diocese. For an inspiring opportunity to grow in your relationship with Christ and build lasting Christian friendships, TEC is the place to be. The weekend is led by a team of youth and adults, with a priest as spiritual director.

At Camp Totus Tuus, one of the only Catholic summer camps in the state of Kansas, Catholic youth will have an intense week of great fun and fellowship with other Catholic youth from across the Diocese of Wichita and the Midwest while experiencing the power and riches of the Catholic Faith.

The camp “curriculum” is a well balanced combination of sacraments, prayer, and fun. Presentations by counselors, small group discussions, and group activities provide an exceptional learning environment for youth with a wide range of learning disciplines. These learning sessions provide opportunities for the youth to discover more about God, themselves, and their peers.

The primary and fundamental focus of Camp Totus Tuus is the development of the youths’ spiritual lives and their ability to hear God’s call in their life. Holy Mass, Adoration, Confession, the Liturgy of the Hours, the Rosary, and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy are the foundation of camp. Prayer is central

However, because this is a summer  to the mission of the Church; as such, Camp Totus Tuus infuses this concept within the youth.camp and not school, fun is equally important and necessary. Games and activities such as Totus Tuus Olympics, swimming, canoeing, skits, and Catechetical Jeopardy keep the atmosphere relaxed yet exciting and allow young people of all interests and abilities to take part and enjoy.

Founded in 1996, Camp Totus Tuus is for youth entering grades 5 through 12 and is held on campgrounds just south of Lyons, Kansas.
